Tip1 A pre-requisite is that you must enjoy writing.
Tip2 Work for a business that you are passionate about.
Tip3 Be able to talk confidently and with conviction about your chosen field/business.
Tip4 Keep abreast of developments and changes within your industry.
Tip5 Build and maintain good working relationships with journalists.
Tip6 Don't rush. Even though deadlines may be tight - ensure your copy (for press releases or marketing literature) is correct with no mistakes.
Tip7 Develop and strengthen your skills by attending courses and workshops.
Tip8 Pitch stories to journalists you know will be interested and don't just send out to your whole contact database.
Tip9 Use social media sites effectively and appropriately. These are good for maximising exposure if used properly.
